2. Either of (1) 3D graphic; (2) CAD graphic; (3) pictures from six angels of the product (up, down, front, back, right, left); or (4) the real product.

What is a design patent?Design patent is a patent for the new design as to the shape, pattern and colors of a product.

What can be protected under design patent?New design as to the appearance of a product, i.e. a special design of lights, desk, toys etc. may be applied as design patent.

How long does it take to apply a design patent?3-6 months in general.

Utility Patent Acquire 10 years protection to your novel ideas on shape or/and structure of a product

What is needed for a utility patent?

1. Information of the applicant and inventor;

2. Power of attorney authorizing us to act on your behalf;

3. Either of (1) Technical disclosure; or (2) a description of the patent in words and graphics (clear description of functions etc.) and videos.

What is a utility patent?Utility patent is patent to the new technical solution as to the shape and structure of a product.

What kind of technical solution may be applied as utility patent?Only structure of shape of a product may be applied as utility patent, i.e. the internal structure of a computer.

What is the difference between utility patent and invention patent? Invention patent has a broader scope of protection and longer period of protection, but is requires higher degree of the technology, and usually cost 2-3 years for application (6-8 months for utility) with lower rate of success.

What is the period to apply a utility patent?Generally 6-8 months in a smooth case.

What is needed for an invention patent?
